Governor Kehoe Signs Bills Into Law During Final Legislative Bill Signings

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - Governor Mike Kehoe has signed several pieces of legislation sponsored by State Senator Mike Henderson into law, marking the completion of bill signings from the Second Regular Session of the 103rd Missouri General Assembly.

Kehoe said the measures were approved following a careful review of legislation passed during what he called one of the most productive legislative sessions in recent history.

"Today's bill signings follow a thorough review of all the legislation sent to my desk this year," Governor Kehoe said. "I appreciate the efforts of the men and women of the One Hundred Third General Assembly during one of the most productive legislative sessions in recent history. I look forward to continuing to work with legislators in the years ahead to make Missouri even safer, stronger, and more prosperous."

Among the Henderson-sponsored legislation signed into law is Senate Bill 1135, known as "Bentley and Mason's Law." Sponsored by Senator Mike Henderson and Representative Cecelie Williams, the measure creates child maintenance order requirements for certain individuals convicted of driving while intoxicated when their actions result in the death of a parent.

Governor Kehoe also approved Senate Bill 1067, sponsored by Henderson and Representative Ben Keathley, which modifies Missouri law regarding civil actions based on public expression.

In addition to the Senate measures, Kehoe signed several House bills handled by Henderson in the Senate, including:

• House Bill 1940, modifying requirements related to the publication of legal notices.
• House Bill 2474, creating new provisions relating to public contracts.
• House Bill 2885, modifying provisions governing the Missouri Water Patrol Division.

The bills were among 36 measures signed by Governor Kehoe, completing action on legislation approved during the 2026 legislative session.
