Governor Kehoe Tours Tornado Damage in Arnold

Arnold, Mo. (KFMO) - Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe visited Arnold on Saturday evening to survey the destruction left behind by Friday’s tornadoes.

Downed power lines, closed businesses, and scattered debris filled the city of Arnold.  The Fox Chase apartments off I-55 is one of the hardest hit places in the city. The roof's been torn off buildings, stairs collapsed, and cars crushed.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that the tornado started in Hillsboro and traveled to Arnold, and was an EF-2.

Now, as cleanup efforts begin, residents are left assessing the damage and determining their next steps toward recovery. Local officials and emergency response teams continue working to provide assistance to those affected.

Governor Kehoe stated that he and his team will continue working around the clock to get resources where they’re needed most.

Ahead of the storm on Friday, Governor Kehoe issued a State of Emergency declaration, which allowed first responders, road crews, and emergency management officials to move quickly.
