Missouri State Highway Patrol Reports Storm-Related Incidents Across State

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released statewide storm totals following the recent winter weather event that impacted the region.

From 9 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, through 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, troopers responded to 1,186 calls for service, assisting motorists and handling traffic-related incidents on hazardous roadways. According to the report, 521 motorists were stranded due to snow-covered and icy conditions, requiring assistance from law enforcement. The Patrol also responded to 374 crashes, which resulted in 42 injuries and, tragically, two fatalities.

Authorities continue to urge drivers to use caution when traveling in winter weather, reduce speeds, and allow extra time for travel.
