(Jefferson City, MO) Missouri residents will see tax cuts and the state's farmers are going to be able to use certain tax credits to their advantage after Governor Mike Parson signed the agricultural tax credits and income tax cut legislation today that was recently passed by members of the Missouri Legislature. State Representative, Mike Henderson, says Governor Parson called the special session, in part, because the farm bill tax credits had a two year sunset clause.
The Senate voted 26 to 3 this week to send the agricultural package to the Governor who vetoed a similar bill in May citing a short two year sunset clause on many of the tax credits. He then called a special session to extend the agricultural credits for a longer period. Lawmakers approved the individual income tax cuts last week.
