Alleged Robbery Near College Entrance

(Leadington, MO) Mineral Area College Officials are thankful for the quick response of St. Francois County 911 personnel during an alleged robbery that is said to have taken place off campus on College Road near the entrance to the school. A MAC Alert statement, from the notification company Regroup, was sent out alerting all College Park Residents. The alert asked residents to watch for the suspect, possibly a while male in his 30's or 40's carrying a rifle. College police were notified by 911 Center emergency personnel. The incident was reported to have taken place about 12:30 this afternoon. Local Police Departments were seen searching the area for the possible suspect. Although there was concern for the safety of students a lock down of the campus was not deemed necessary. KFMO B104 News has contacted College President Dr. Joe Gilgour who indicated the matter was handled off campus. Leadington Police say no suspects have been arrested and the investigation continues. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available to KFMO B104 News.
