Iron Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Authorities in Iron County are searching for a man that has been missing since Saturday, June 8.

59-year-old Mike Jaco went missing from his home on County Road 110, when he left for a walk with his two dogs and never returned. His home is at the end of the county road, which is off of E Highway, outside of Arcadia, which opens up to forestry land.

Iron County Sheriff Chuck Helton says that the department was notified about Jaco that evening.

The search has been suspended for the time being. Once new leads come in to authorities, the search will resume.

Jaco is described as a white male, 5'9"10" and 151 lbs, with long, graying hair. He was last seen wearing a black "Call to Duty" shirt and black pants. The dogs are of a shephard mix, both of the same litter, rougly 60 lbs, with a black, gray and white coloring. Helton said the dogs have not returned home, so are most likely still with Jaco.

According to Helton, Jaco was recently diagnosed with dementia. He said that family said that Jaco is a friendly person and would most likely walk up to you.

There was a possible sighting of Jaco on D Highway, which is on the other side of the mountain from where he lives, Saturday, which came in hours after the fact.

Helton said that there were around 14 agencies that were out searching for him this weekend, which included air support from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Cherokee Pass' Drone Equipment and three different dog teams.

If you have any information on Jaco's whereabouts, you are asked to call St. Francois County Joint Communications at 573-431-3131 or the Iron County Sheriff's Department at 573-546-7051.
