Authorities Suspend Operations in Standoff

Desloge, Mo. (KFMO) - A standoff unfolded in the 100 block of South Waller Street in Desloge Thursday, blocking off the area for several hours.

The incident began at 7:30 a.m., when authorities attempted to take the subject into custody for a 96-hour evaluation. This lead to a hours long standoff, drawing a significant law enforcement presence.

Officers from the Desloge Police Department, the St. Francois County Sheriff's Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol were on the scene until about 3 p.m., when it was decided to suspend operations. Residents in the vacinity of the standoff were told to evacuate their homes for their safety. This portion of the street was blocked off by authorities as well.
