Beryl to Bring Heavy Rainfall to the Parkland

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Beryl made landfall in Texas early Monday morning as a Category 1 Hurricane.

Beryl restrengthened into a hurricane late Sunday night and made landfall near Matagorda, Texas, around 4 a.m. Beryl was downgraded to a tropical storm at 10 a.m. Monday and will continue to bring damaging winds, storm surge flooding, inland flooding from rain, damaging wind gusts and even tornadoes to parts of the south-central United States into Tuesday.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Matt Beitscher says the Parkland will see heavy rainfall, as the storm moves northeastward. 

The heaviest axis is most likely across southeast Missouri and southwest Illinois, as the forecast is calling for 3" to 4", with locally heavy rainfall possible, across the Parkland. A flood watch has been issued for the area late Monday night, lasting through early Wednesday morning. Flash flooding along with river flooding is also possible.
