Big River Chautauqua Continues

(Bonne Terre, MO) The Big River Chautauqua continues this weekend with historical characters brought to life including singer Mama Cass Elliot, played by Karen Vuranch, and civil rights activist Rosa Parks, portrayed by Sherrie Tolliver. Vuranch, who performs tonight, says Chuatauqua is all about people.

Sherrie Tolliver will portray Rosa Parks Saturday evening. According to Tolliver sometimes we forget the importance of Park's contributions to the civil rights movement.

Historical actor Jeremy Meier presented Robert F. Kennedy Thursday night and a member of the Big River Chautauqua committee, Paul Williams, says every Chautauqua is bringing history alive.

The Big River Chautauqua gates open at 5:30 with food available. The entertainment begins at 6 o'clock each night with music from guitarist Darin Thomas to begin the program. Historic performances start at 7:30.
