Browning Charged after Shots Fired

(Steelville. MO) A man from Jefferson City, 37 year old Bradley Browning, is being charged with crimes in an 8 count warrant after Crawford County Deputies were called to an address on Valleyside Road in Steelville Tuesday morning about 7:35. Information from Crawford County Sheriff, Darrin Layman, indicates when deputies arrived Browning was outside the residence with a dog on a chain. When the dog became aggressive, Browning entered the home and fired a shot through a window in the Deputy's direction. Assistance was requested and several deputies , Steelville Police Officers, and Highway Patrol Troopers responded. Browning is alleged to have barricaded himself in and fired several additional rounds at police. After a 5 hour standoff he was captured without incident. Browning is charged with Assault First Degree on a Special Victim, Armed Criminal Action, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon by Exhibiting, Resisting a Felony Arrest, Unlawful Use of a Weapon while Possessing a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Prior Offender. No bond has been set for Browning. No one was injured during the incident.
