Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Authorities have taken 58-year-old Mark A. Delbrook, of Cedar Hill, into custody after a tense encounter Friday near Highway 30 and Executive Parkway. A warrant for his arrest was issued on October 19.
Early Friday morning, Jefferson County Deputies received a tip that Delbrook had left his home. A deputy, aware of the outstanding warrant, attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Delbrook’s vehicle eventually stopped, but he reportedly failed to respond to the deputy’s commands. Given the recent threats Delbrook allegedly made toward deputies, additional units — including SWAT and Crisis Intervention Specialists — were called to the scene, temporarily shutting down Highway 30 in both directions to ensure public safety.
After de-escalation efforts, the Sheriff’s Office successfully took Delbrook into custody with minimal incident. Responding to public speculation, officials clarified that no shots were fired during the incident. SWAT teams used a diversionary device to momentarily disorient Delbrook, facilitating his safe apprehension. A loaded handgun and extra magazines were found in his vehicle during a search.
Following the incident, Delbrook was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and then booked into the Jefferson County Jail. Delbrook, is held without bond, faces a charge of first-degree harassment after allegedly harassing several neighbors.
