Commission Approves Worker Compensation Funds Outside of Budget

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A payment to the Missouri Association of Counties has been approved by the St. Francois County Commission.

Associate County Commissioner, David Kater, says the association handles the county's workmens compensation. Commissioners made an adjustment to the county budget of a litle over $62,000 after the association's audit found how much workemen's compensation the county had used.

Kater adds the commission doesn't know the exact amount prior to putting together the county's annual budget, yet an estimate of the amount is considered by the commissioners.

The payment was approved at this week's St. Francois County Commission meeting.
