Commissioners Discuss Renovations and Additions

(Farmington, MO) Two St. Francois County government buildings could get more renovations after Tuesday's St. Francois County Commission meeting. The proposals call for a Mental Health Chronic Care Unit to be added to the St. Francois County jail. St. Francois County Presiding Commissioner, Harold Gallaher, says sometimes deputies bring people to jail because they have no other place to take them.

Gallaher adds the second building to sere improvements would be the Road and Bridge building on Woodlawn Drive. Commissioners gave approval to a grant search to see if there are grants available that could help with the work. In other business at Tuesday's St. Francois County Commission Charter Representatives presented their proposal for the Spectra Broadband Program from the federal government. It would allow for the installation of fiber optic internet for rural areas.
