Farmington Emergency Management Director Joshua McAtee reminds residents to take extra precautions during the high temperatures to prevent heat related illnesses. Limit outdoor activity if possible. Drink plenty of water and wear light weight, loose-fitting clothing. Schedule outdoor activities in the early morning or evening if possible.

Also remember to never leave people or pets in a vehicle, and monitor those at risk, such as children, the elderly, and people with chronic health conditions. If you suspect someone is having a heat stroke, call 911.
