Election Safety Issue More Important Than Ever

(Bonne Terre, MO) After the death of Bonne Terre Police Officer, 30 year old Lane Burns, and the critical wounding of his partner, 28 year old Garrett Worley, officials of the town are more serious than ever about getting the Proposition 1 safety sales tax issue passed in the coming April elections. The measure would help the city's police and fire departments with training, equipment, and more. The City Administrator of Bonne Terre, Shawn Kay, says police officers, are not paid enough for the dangerous work they do everyday to keep citizens safe.

Kay adds if approved the funds from the measure would generate about $500,000 dollars annually.
