Execution Date for Dorsey

(Bonne Terre, MO) The execution of Brian Dorsey, who was convicted of killing his cousin and her husband, is set for April 9th at 6 pm at the Eastern Reception Diagnostic and Correctional Center at Bonne Terre. Dorsey was convicted of killing his cousin Sarah Bonnie, and her husband, Ben, December 23rd of 2006. Records indicate Dorsey killed the pair with a shotgun after they went to bed that night. He had asked for a loan from Sarah Bonnie to pay off drug dealer debt. Reports indicate Dorsey sexually assaulted Sarah Bonnie's body after shooting her. The couple's 4 year old daughter was not hurt in the incident. The couple's bodies were discovered the next day. Even though Dorsey pled guilty to the crimes he appealed his death sentence. When that didn't work a second appeal claimed he was mentally ill at the time and his lawyer wasn't effective.
