Fire Destroys Vacant Building

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - A vacant building in Park Hills is destroyed after a fire broke out Monday evening.

According to Park Hills Fire Chief Brad Weiss, crews were dispatched to the scene, at the corner of St. Joe Drive and Eighth Street, in Park Hills, a little after 8 p.m. The building was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. Weiss says that neighbors reported there may have been someone staying inside the building, however there was no one found inside.

Crews were able to contain the fire to the building, however there was heat damage to the neighbors house. Crews left the scene a little after midnight on Tuesday. The building was a total loss.

Besides Park Hills, Leadington, Desloge, Big River, Doe Run, Wolf Creek, Potosi and Irondale helped with fighting the fire. DeSoto Rural was on the scene to cover for Park Hills.
