Firefighters Contain Garage Fire in Leadwood

Leadwood, Mo. (KFMO) - At approximately 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, the Leadwood Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire in the 600 block of Chariton Avenue.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a garage fully engulfed in flames, with several nearby structures at risk. Crews quickly deployed a 2.5-inch hose for the initial attack while two additional hand lines were used to protect the surrounding structures. The fire was successfully brought under control without further incident. Other departments that assisted in the response include Big River, Bismarck, Desloge, Farmington, and Potosi. Additional support came from DeSoto and Jefferson R-7, which provided coverage during the operation.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
