Fredericktown Flooding After Storm

(Fredericktown, MO) Several homes and businesses in Fredericktown are experiencing flooding after Wednesday night's thunderstorms. Crews with the City of Fredericktown Street Department and Fire Department evacuated 21 people from flood water in the area of Holmes Subdivision, Saline Creek and a creek along South Mine La Motte. According to a post on the Fredericktown Fire Department Facebook page, they began receiving a high number of calls Thursday morning at 3:00. Official National Weather Service estimates indicate Fredericktown received between 7 and 8 inches of rainfall overnight, raising the water level of Tollar Branch creek resulting in the closings of Franklin St. at South Mine Lamotte Avenue, and South Mine Lamotte Avenue at Newberry Sreet.
