Legislative Session Begins Today

(Jefferson City, MO) The Missouri General Assembly convenes at noon today. The President of Mineral Area College, Dr. Joe Gilgour, says he's thankful for the work our area legislators have done to get funding for the college and he's working to continue that effort.

Some of the federal and state revenue brought to MAC, with the assistance of legislators, has helped build new soccer fields, HVAC and Welding programs and buildings, and the new technology building being built on the MAC Park Hills Campus. Other issues expected to be discussed during the session include parental involvement in public education, agricultural protections, and initiative petition reform. There have also discissions of possble gun control legislatioin being brought to the floor.
