Madison Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A man is in custody after a confrontation with law enforcement led to a foot pursuit in Madison County on Thursday afternoon.
Deputies were called to a residence at the intersection of Highway 411 and C Highway for a neighbor dispute. During the call, officers identified a male subject who was found to have an active warrant for his arrest.
When authorities attempted to place the man under arrest, he became aggressive, assaulted the arresting deputy, and fled into a nearby wooded area. Additional assistance was requested, and officers from the Fredericktown Police Department responded to aid in the search.
The man was later located and taken into custody without further incident. He is currently being held at the Madison County Jail on his outstanding warrant, with additional charges being sought for Assault 2nd Degree (Special Victim) and Resisting Arrest.
