Mine Shaft Hole Opens Again

(Bonne Terre, MO) A mine shaft near the Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce office, has opened up again after it was closed off a few years ago. The Executive Director of the Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce, Leigha Head, says she noticed the concrete covering over the shaft had fallen in and alerted city authorities who contacted the Doe Run Company for assistance.

No injuries have come about because of the shaft opening up however, Head encourages citizens to stay away from the hole so crews can make the needed repairs as soon as possible.
