Mineral Point Woman Accused of Theft

(Mineral Point, MO.) A woman from Mineral Point, 54 year old Barbara Jean Pratt, is charged with 15 class D felony counts of stealing more than $750 from her former employer J.V. Contracting of Cadet. Police allege Pratt used money from the company's business account to pay on her personal credit card bill. Authorities say Pratt engaged in the activity for over a year. Law enforcement officials indicate over $25,000 was missing from the company. Pratt worked for the contracting company for several months from September of 2017 through December of 2018. A warrant was served to Pratt in June. She posted a $20,000 surety bond and is set to appear for a preliminary court hearing August 20th.
