Mosquito Borne Illness Affect Missouri Teen

St. Louis Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Several mosquito borne infections are on the rise across the country, one here in Missouri.

An 18-year-old suffered rare complications from his infection from the West Nile Virus, and is now paralyzed and on a ventilator. Health officials in Wisconsin say two people have died from West Nile virus. Meanwhile, a second case of EEE has been confirmed now in Massachusetts. Dr. Celine Gounder says while a lot of people don’t develop any symptoms they can include some.

A 41-year-old New Hampshire man died from the virus earlier in the week.
