Motorcycle Wreck in St. Francois County

(St. Francois County, MO) A man from French Village, 39 year old William M. Gant, is recovering from moderate injuries after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a culvert and became airborne. Highway Patrol reports show Gant was riding the motorcycle east on Fish Pond Road, east of Sunshine Drive, at about 4:40 Wednesday morning, when he lost control of the bike and it ran off the left side of the road. The motorcycle then struck a culvert and flew through the air, smashing into the ground. Grant, who was not wearing a helmet when the wreck occurred, was flown to Mercy Hospital South at St. Louis. The motorcycle was totaled.
