New Law Adds Teeth to High Speed Chase Charges

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Missouri law enforcement officials hope a new law will cut down on the number of high speed chases in the state.

St. Francois County Prosecuting Attornery, Blake Dudley, says a hig speed chase can be deadly for everyone involved and lawmakers are trying to help by adding a year of jail time for those convicted in a high speed chase.

According to Dudley, before the new law convicted high speed chase suspects would face only a short stay in jail before being paroled.
