Open Enrollment Passes House

(Jefferson City, MO) The proposal for open enrollment in Missouri Schools is now in the hands of Senators for their vote after the measure passed through the Missouri House this past Wednesday. The Superintendent of the Central School District, Dr. Ashley McMillan, says he feels eventually open enrollment will become law in Missouri.

The measure was amended before house approval. The amendment would see a 3% cap on the amount of students a district could leave the district per year. The way the bill also gives schools across the state the ability to opt out of the open enrollment program if they want.
