Pedestrian Struck in St. Francois County

(French Village, MO) A French Village man, 86 year old Richard E. Watkings, is suffering serious injuries after he was struck by a car driven east on highway Y at Brickey Road Friday night. Highway Patrol records show it was 7:50 pm when the front end of the car driven by Kristie A. Gearhart, of French Village, struck Watkings as he was standing in the middle of the eastbound lane. Watkings was taken to Mercy Hospital South at St. Louis. Gearhart was not hurt.
