Potosi, Mo. (KFMO) - With flu season hitting hard, the Potosi School District is taking proactive steps to ensure students can continue learning in the event of a temporary school closure due to widespread illness. On Thursday, the district sent home Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) packets with students, containing assignments and activities to keep them engaged from home.
For students with Chromebooks, assignments will be preloaded onto their devices, eliminating the need for internet access. If closures become necessary, families will be notified through phone calls, emails, the district website, and social media.
At this time, district officials say attendance levels have not reached a point requiring closure, but they continue to monitor student and staff attendance daily.
Parents are encouraged to review the AMI materials with their child and keep them in a safe place. If a packet is misplaced or additional support is needed, families can contact their child’s teacher or the school office. Teachers will be available via email during school hours to assist students as needed.
