Practicing Fireworks Safety Guidelines

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The 4th of July holiday is coming soon and many Parkland residents will set off their own fireworks display.

The Environmental Public Health Specialist, and Public Health Emergency Planner, for the St. Francois County Health Center, Donovan Kleinberg, says we have to take fireworks safety seriously to avoid serious injuries and sparklers are some of the most dangerous firerworks.

Kleinberg explains 2/3 of all firework related injuries and deaths occur this time of year.

It is important to prepare the area when using fireworks, supervise young children, and remain sober when setting up or lighting fireworks.
