President Biden Drops Out of Presidential Election

Washington, D.C. (KFMO) - President Joe Biden has ended his 2024 bid.

Biden posted to X- "It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term".

CBS News Chief Elections and Campaign Correspondent Robert Costa reports this was not an easy decision for the Commander and Chief.

Biden plans to serve out the remainder of his term in office. He did not immediately throw his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris. Biden wrote he will speak to nation later this week about his decision.
