Proposition P for Safety on Ballot

(St. Francois County, MO) The St. Francois county August Primary Ballot features just one issue, the Proposition P Saftey Measure for law enforcement. If approved by voters the measure would allow the internet sales tax, which is already being collected in St. Francois County, yet is taken by the State of Missouri, to be diverted back to the County. Most of the funds would be given to the St. Francois County Sheriff's Depatrtment. The department's Lieutenant Mike Ryan says they don't have enouigh deputies to safely cover the whole county and the extra funding would allow them to hire more.

The money would also increase deupty salaries for greater retention of employees. The internet tax is already being collected when you purchase something off the internet in St. Francois County. The reason the funds aren't coming to the county is because voters haven't approved the distribution of the money to St. Francois County.
