Several Pets Die in Bonne Terre Fire

(Bonne Terre, MO) No injuries are being reported after a fire on the corner of Bell and Middle Streets in Bonne Terre Monday night yet several pets died in the blaze. According to Big River Bonne Terre fire Chief, David Pratte, crews were called out at 8:50 and were on the scene in 4 minutes. Pratte indicates when they arrived there was heavy smoke showing from the home. The doors to the residence were locked so firemen had to force their way into the building. Even though there was no one in the residence 5 dogs and 2 cats perished in the blaze with one pet unaccounted for. Pratte also explained the Fire Marshall was called and authorities suspect the blaze was caused by fireworks. Big River Bonne Terre Fire received assistance from the Park Hills, Desloge, Rural Desoto, Farmington, and Leadwood Fire Departments.
