Stay Cool And Hydrated During Summer

(Park Hills, MO) Officials at the St. Francois County Health Center urge you to stay cool as Missouri gets closer to summer time that often includes high humidity. The Environmental Public Health Specialist and Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for the Health Center, Donovan Kleinberg, says heat related illness typically comes in four stages, with the first two stages, heat rash and heat cramps, are minor and can be treated with water and rest, while the other two stages are more sever.

Kleinberg adds if you see anyone who may be red in the face, exhausted, or have a slower response time while working or playing in the heat, call 911 and get help immediately.
