Tax Cuts Could Take From Education

(Park Hills, MO) Leaders at Mineral Area College are concerned there could be an effect on future funding from the state depending on the outcome of tax cuts from the Governor. The President of the College, Dr. Joe Gilgour, says a sustainable tax cut could produce negative funding results for colleges and public schools.

Missouri legislators will go back into the session next Wednesday. The tax cuts proposed were discussed at Thursday's Board of Trustees meeting. In other business at the meeting 100th anniversary celebration proclomations from government officials were on dispaly and the latest winner of the school's Champion of Excellence Award was chosen.
