Two Injured in Crash on U.S. 67 in St. Francois County

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 67 near Route Y left one driver seriously injured and another with minor injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 1:35 p.m. in the southbound lanes of U.S. 67. Troopers say a 41-year-old woman from Dittmer, Missouri, was driving a 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac when she suffered a medical emergency, lost control of the vehicle, and struck the rear of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. The Silverado, driven by a 60-year-old man from Farmington, traveled off the right side of the road and hit a dirt embankment. The Silverado veered to the left, striking the median cable barrier.

The woman was seriously injured and flown by Air Evac to Mercy Hospital St. Louis. The man sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Parkland Health Center in Farmington.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene. Authorities say both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
