Two Rounds of Winter Weather This Week

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The Parkland is bracing for two rounds of winter weather this week, with accumulating snow and the potential for significant travel impacts.

Round #1: Monday Night – Tuesday Morning
Light snow will move into southeast Missouri late Monday night, around midnight, and continue through mid-to-late Tuesday morning. Accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are expected, primarily in southeast Missouri. While overall impacts should be minor, bridges and overpasses may become slick.

Round #2: Wednesday – Wednesday Night
A more potent winter storm is expected to arrive Wednesday morning, bringing a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Snowfall totals could exceed 4 inches in some areas, with the possibility of sleet and freezing rain creating hazardous conditions, especially along and south of the I-44 corridor in Missouri and I-70 in Illinois. Uncertainty remains regarding exact precipitation amounts and types, but widespread travel disruptions are anticipated.

Residents are advised to stay updated on forecasts and prepare for winter weather conditions throughout the week.
