Washington County Pickups Crash

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Bismarck man, 81-year-old Charles C. Carolyn, and a woman from Sullivan, 65-year-old Patricia D. Peck, are recovering from moderate injuries after they were involved in a two pickup crash in Washington County Thursday aftyernoon at 3:12 p.m. 

According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both trucks were headed south on Highway 47, north of the Highway 47 Loop Road. Carolyn's truck was stopped in the southbound lane at a temporary traffic control device when Peck's pickup came from behind. Peck was inattentive to road conditions and his truck struck the rear of Carolyn's pickup. Both vehicles began to skid and ran off the right side of the road. Caorlyn's truck crashed into the traffic control device while Peck's pickup ran back onto the road, continued to skid, and ran off the left side of the highway.

Carolyn was taken to Washington County Memorial Hospital at Potosi. Peck was transported to Mercy Hospital South at St. Louis. They were both wearing their seat belts when the crash took place.
