Washington County Wednesday Crash

(Washington County, MO) Two Potosi teenagers, 18 year old Kevin J. Fitzwater and 19 year old Geoffery G. Howard, are recovering from injuries after a one car crash in Washington County on Highway 21, near Cannon Mines Road, Wednesday night right before 8 o'clock. Highway Patrol records show Fitzwater was driving north, too fast for road conditions, when the car began to slide in a curve to the left. It crossed over the centerline and ran off the left side of the highway. The front left bumper struck a sign and the car began to spin counter clockwise. The rear bumper smashed into a tree knocking the car back onto the roadway. Fitzwater was moderately injured while his passenger Howard, received serious injuries. They were both taken to Mercy Hospital South at St. Louis.
