Washington County Wreck Injures Several

(Washington County, MO.) Three people are recovering from injuries they received in a two car wreck in Washington County Tuesday evening. Troopers with the Highway Patrol say the accident happened at 6:35 when a car driven west on Highway P, by 40 year old Ernie D. Nokes of Park Hills, was stopped at 10550 Highway P. His car was hit in the rear by a car driven by 89 year old Louise W. Newcomer of Potosi. Nokes was seriously injured and was taken to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. A passenger in the car Nokes was driving, 30 year old Julie R. Sharp of Park HIlls, received minor injuries and was taken to Washington County Memorial Hospital. Newcomer, who was also seriously injured, was taken to Washington County Memorial Hospital. All three were wearing their seat belts when the wreck took place.
