Billy Ray Barnes Jr., of Fredericktown, entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of 54. He was born on April 28, 1970, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Billy Ray Barnes Sr. and Doritha Irene (Sturgess) Barnes.
Billy is survived by his wife, Penny Barnes; his mother, Doritha Barnes; his adoptive mother, Sue Mayernik; his children, Eddie (Kierstan) Wampler, Joshua (Kat) Wampler, Devon Womack, and Angel (Steven) Hubbs; his grandchildren, Gabriella, Caleb, Trenton, Tyson, Leilani, Livia, Myla, Ella, and Brody; his brothers, Jeff (Kathy) Barnes, Danny Barnes, Billy (Julie) Wampler, and Mike (Jennifer) Cluck; his adopted brother, Mike Marcoulier; his sisters, Theresa (Nick) Barnes; his nieces, Amber, Kelsie, and Alyssa; his nephew, Makae; his great nephews, Londyn, Miyla, Willow, and Wrenley; and his great nephews, Jayce, Colson, and Daxton. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends also survive.
Billy worked for the Local 58 Painters Union in St. Louis for numerous years. He was a member of Faith Community Church in St. Ann, Missouri. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, listening to music, road trips with his wife, and watching the Big Bang Theory. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 5 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel.
