Carolyn Joann Horton, of Farmington, entered enteral rest on July 24, 2024, at Community Manor at the age of 83. She was born on July 6, 1941, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, to Paul and Zella (McDaniel) Vaugh.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Shelia Horton of Farmington and Terry (Deborah) Horton of Belleville, IL, her grandchildren, Bradley Horton, Haley Horton, Olivia Horton, and Nicholas Horton, her special niece, Jane (Phil) Brenneke of French Village, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence David Horton, and her brother, Herbert (the late Wanda) Vaugh, and her sister, Evelyn (the late Dellon) Marberry.
Carolyn retired as a resource investigator from the Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center after 27 years of service. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed crafting. She was truly a “mom” to everyone and will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. officiated by Chaplain Bob Webb. Interment to follow at Pleasant Hill United Baptist Cemetery.
