Jean Elisabeth Crocker-Wren, of Park Hills, entered eternal rest on July 17, 2024, at Parkland Health Center in Farmington at the age of 66. She was born on November 13, 1957, in Festus, Missouri, to Clinton Stevens and Verna (Dalton) Stevens. Jean was united in marriage to Veldon Wren on January 4, 2014, in Pilot Knob, Missouri, at the Pilot Knob Baptist Church.
Jean is survived by her husband, “Wren” Veldon Wren; her children, Misty Shanks, Angee (Donald) Decker, and Richard Crocker; her stepchildren, Kelsey (Thomas) Jones and Ashley (Sam) Hovis; her siblings, Leona Kane, Carl Stevens, and Jo Ann Winston; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and special friends. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who were the center of her world, bringing immense love and joy into her life.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband and father of her children, Richard Henry Crocker Sr; her brother, Clinton Stevens; and her sisters, Wanda Austin, Darlene Stokes, and Arlene Blackwell.
Jean graduated from Central High School in Park Hills with the class of 1976. She started working as a member of the nursing staff at the Baptist Home in Ironton, where she later became the activities coordinator, devoting 31 years of her life to the residents and pouring her heart and soul into every moment. While working, she attended Mineral Area College and proudly graduated with an associate degree. She was a member of the Elvins Baptist Church in Park Hills for the last 7 years.
She enjoyed listening to music, sewing, decorating for the holidays, collecting unique depression glass pieces, and loved playing board games. She took great pleasure in teaching her family how to play the piano, passing on her gifted skill and love for music to the next generation. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and looked forward to “DAM” (dinner at mom’s) night where the family would come over for dinner and play various games.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 2-6 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Bates Creek Baptist Camp, 10361 Quarry Road, Potosi, MO 63664. View the video tribute and share your memories and condolences at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
