Jessica L Cox, age 40 of Cape Girardeau, Missouri passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Jackson Manor in Jackson, Missouri surrounded by her children and loved ones. She was born on March 26, 1984, in Heidelberg, Germany, to Russell Lee and Lola Ann (Thompson) Cox.
She and her siblings grew up in Missouri where they all have chosen to settle and have their own families; together, with Mark Kilhafner they have four children.
Jessica worked at the Marriott Hotel in Cape Girardeau until she was forced into early retirement due to health issues; she was a very talented young woman with a heart of gold; she would always look out for her loved ones; she loved her children more than anything. She sought out anything that was free or that she could find use of and was very artistically inclined. She would make doodles and decorate her personal items, which would have her own creative touch. You could always find her rocking out to some of her favorite bands, drinking Baja Blast or spending time with her friends and family; it was never a dull moment being around her.
Loving survivors include her four children – Ryleigh Kilhafner of Marble Hill, Missouri, and Natalie, Hailey and Jackson Kilhafner all of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; mother – Lola Cox of Cape Girardeau; father – Russell Cox of Crocker, Missouri; brothers – Justin Cox of Fredericktown, Missouri and Chris Cox; sisters – Casey Rehkop of Jackson and Christly Weekly.
A memorial service may be planned for a later date.
