Jimmie L. Maxfield

Jimmie L. Maxfield, age 74, of Solebury Township, PA, passed away on December 8, 2024.

Jimmie was born on April 10, 1950, in Rector Arkansas, the son of James Maxfield and Helen (Gould) Maxfield.

Jimmie graduated from Central High School, Park Hills Missouri and went on to obtain his Bachelors Degree from Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Jimmie was married to  Brenda (Ellis) Maxfield for 51 years and enjoyed their time together traveling, golfing, dining out, and just spending quality time with one another, most of that time with Jimmie playing practical jokes on Brenda just to get her to laugh.   

Jimmie was a District Business Manager with Bristol-Myers Squib completing his retirement in 2016 with over 42 years.  His exceptional skills in sales and management earned him numerous “Great Performers” trips and awards.  Jimmie always said the greatest award he received was being on stage with Jill Eikenberry from the old L.A. Law TV show who was there to help promote cancer awareness and getting a kiss on the cheek from her!

Jimmie enjoyed golf, relaxing with a good cigar in the evenings or with friend , listening to music from all genres, and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and 76ers.  

He was always described as kind, caring, big hearted, usually precocious, fun, giving, and easy-going.  He was always looking for ways to help those in need through generous donations or time.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Brenda, Mother, Helen Maxfield of Farmington, MO, two sisters Diane Reed, Farmington, MO and Kathy (Randy Donelson), Springfield, MO.  One niece, Julie (Keith) McDowell, Fenton, MO, nephew Joshua Donelson, Springfield MO and great niece Kelsey McDowell, University City, St. Louis and Joel (Miranda) McDowell of St Charles, MO.  He was proceeded in death by his Father, James Maxfield, Brother-in-law, Marvin Reed, Grandparents Hue and Cecil (Tanner) Maxfield, Earl and Ayleen Gould, and Uncle, Sonny Gould.

Visitation will be held December 21, 2024 from 10-11AM with services at 11 at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home, 1 Federal Park Ave., Park Hills, Mo. 63601.  A private burial will be held after for family members at Hillview Gardens Memorial Cemetery, Farmington, MO.

In lieu of flowers, his wife has requested that donations be made to one of his favorite charities American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Research, or Wounded Warrior Project.
