Lewis Lindell Penberthy, Jr., went home to be with the Lord on October 30, 2024. He was 61 years old. Lewis was born on August 11, 1963 to loving and faithful parents Lewis and Ida Mae (Sitzes) Penberthy.
His life was filled with camping trips and boat rides. He loved to sing Dolly Parton and The Judds, and he regularly serenaded his family with Silent Night during Christmas. He spent his days at PATH Center. Later in life, he attended A1 Adult Daycare and made many special friends there. He loved to watch wrestling with his nephew, Jason, and he loved to go to the races with his brother, Tony. He enjoyed celebrating all of the holidays and birthdays, and looked forward to time with his family. He had a beautiful life and was a friend to all who knew him. For the last year, he has resided at St. Joe Memory Court where he met many new friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Leon and Melba Penberthy and Robert and Wilma Sitzes; his dad, Lewis Penberthy; and his brother, Tony Penberthy.
Lewis is survived by his mom and best friend, Ida Penberthy; his sister, Tammy Penberthy; his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and has held in his heart since the day they were born, Jason (Samantha) Lee, Robyn Tiefenauer, Dustin Lee, Anthony (Jackie) Penberthy, and Britanny Penberthy; his great nieces and nephews, D-Ray, Madilyn, Madison, Marshall, Leo, Harper, Rory, Azzy, Kaitlynn.
Lewis was a beautiful gift from God. He leaves a legacy of unconditional love and friendships. We will cherish our memories with him forever.
Visitation for family will be at 10:30; friends at 11; and the funeral service with Rev. Mark Moss to follow at 2, at Horton Wampler Funeral Home 1 Federal Park Ave., Park Hills, Missouri on Monday, November 4, 2024.
Burial at Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Farmington, Missouri.
