Rebecca “Becky” Lou LaBruyere
October 20, 1952 – August 14, 2026
Rebecca “Becky” Lou LaBruyere, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in the mid-morning hours of Friday, August 14, 2026, at Southbrook Rehabilitation Center.
Becky was born on October 20, 1952, to Lee and Mary Lou (Reimann) Bollinger. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, Sally Bollinger Erwin and her husband, Gary.
Becky was a fun-loving mother, friend, and grandparent who brought laughter, love, and a little bit of mischief wherever she went. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a playful spirit that made her so much fun to be around. She especially enjoyed teaching her daughter, friends, and granddaughter how to do cartwheels and, perhaps most memorably, how to properly “teepee” a friend’s house. Her lessons didn’t stop there—she even taught them how to drive with their legs crossed, a very “Becky” lesson that surely won’t be forgotten. She also had a special talent for decorating a Christmas tree, turning it into something beautiful.
She could find joy in the simple things, too. Cleaning was considered one of her hobbies—especially when paired with a good Hallmark Channel movie. Becky was a gifted storyteller, sharing stories that turned into memories her family and friends will always carry with them.
Becky’s proudest title was Mom and Grandma, and she is survived by her son, Chris LaBruyere and his wife, Denise LaBruyere; her daughter, Sally Bender and her husband, Carey Bender; and her grandchildren, Steven Barlow and his wife, Taylor Barlow, Clayton LaBruyere, Blake Barlow and his wife, Riley Barlow, Claire LaBruyere and her fiancé, Layne Murray, and Zach Bender.
She was also a great-grandmother to Lottie, Bennett, and Kollyns Barlow.
Becky’s family also knows she would absolutely insist her beloved granddogs get their moment in the spotlight: Jackson, Remi, Russell, Bennie, Ace, and Roxie—her loyal four-legged crew who brought her joy, and unconditional love.
Those who knew and loved Becky will remember her for her laughter, her playful nature, her generous heart, and the special way she made ordinary moments into memories. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she passed peacefully, surrounded by the care of Southbrook Rehabilitation.
Becky will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
