Rick Steven Monica, of Higbee, entered eternal rest on September 30, 2024, at the Independence Care Center in Perryville at the age of 68. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on September14, 1956, to Peter and Jean (Corzine) Monica.
Rick is survived by his mother, Jean Monica of St. Charles, his daughter, Heather (Jeremy) Jones of Marquand, his brothers, Michael (Georgia) Monica and Jeffrey (Gina) Monica, his nieces and nephews, Lacey (Tony) Malcinski, Brittany (John) Behlmann, Zac Monica, Crewe Monica, Shaun (Vanessa) Monica, A.J. (Teneen) Monica, Brooke (Ryan) Hauk, and Tyler Monica, along with great nieces, great nephews, and many friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Peter Monica.
Rick worked as a sorter for the United States Postal Service. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was an animal lover and was especially fond of his canine companions, Katie and Sophie and feline friends, Lynard and Skynard. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
