Bill Would Look at New Painkillers Instead of Opioids

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - A measure being discussed in the Missouri Senate would cause insurance companies to look at pain medications other than opioids as their first choice for patients.

The State Senator of Missouri's 3rd District, Mike Henderson, sponsors the bill and he says now insurance companies turn to addictive, less costly, opioids first to save money.

Henderson also says he feels the bill has a good chance of passage.
