MAC President Dr. Joe Gilgour Named National CEO of the Year by AACC

Nashville, Tn. (KFMO) - Mineral Area College President Dr. Joe Gilgour has been honored as the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) CEO of the Year.

The prestigious award was announced Tuesday, April 15, at the AACC Annual Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. The AACC represents nearly 1,200 community colleges and over 12 million students nationwide.

The CEO of the Year award recognizes outstanding leadership, advocacy, and dedication to student success.

Dr. Gilgour, who has led MAC since 2019, has spearheaded major growth at the college, including new outreach centers and over $25 million in public and private funding to expand career and technical education programs. His leadership has reversed enrollment declines and enhanced opportunities across the region.
